For people living at these elevations in Peru, Maca plays an essential role in maintaining healthy energy and stamina. Several scientific studies have confirmed that Maca has a positive effect on endurance and energy levels. Maca is also anabolic (muscle building) and has a high content of bio-available protein and other nutrients that support healthy, natural muscle growth. South American tribes, such as the Inca Warriors, historically used a tonic of the plant root before battle to increase ferociousness.
With a long history of use in sports, magnesium is known to promote energy-release and reduce fatigue as well as supporting protein synthesis and nervous system and muscle function. Bullet & Bone products all contain magnesium in the form of magnesium sulphate (also known as Epson Salt) which has been shown to aid muscle recovery.
